Coming Soon...
We hope everyone is ready for a kick-ass 2005!
In the Doctura camp...we've all managed to keep pretty busy and are currently putting the final touches on a couple of new tracks in our "home studio."
Both, you might recognize from our recent live sets: "Anoxia" is a really dark, moody jam with lots of dynamics and a very "epic" feel.
The other, "Fraudulent", has some really powerful lyrics and a driving beat. It's sure to strike at the heart of our nation's hypocrites and will definitely kick you in the ass!
We hope to have these tracks available to you and posted at the site in the near future. Just something to tide the DocFans over before our next official studio release...
We will say, that we feel like our music has evolved and matured since our last release and are anxious to expose some of this music to the world!
We're also working on lining up some excellent shows for 2005, so keep checking back for confirmations. Can't wait? Be the first to know when we play next!

R.I.P. Dimebag
It is with a sad and heavy heart that we mourn the loss of one of Doctura's main inspirations, ex-Pantera/Damageplan guitarist
"Dimebag" Darrell Abbott. Tragically, he was gunned down on stage in Columbus, Ohio on 12/08/04, twenty-four years to the day
after John Lennon's assassination. Pantera was a huge influence early on in Doctura's development and their music has remained
a constant inspiration through the years. Hell, Ryan and Nat even play Dime's signature Washburn series guitars and Doctura is
sponsored by DR Strings, the same strings used by Dimebag.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of those who were lost in this tragedy, and especially to Vinnie Paul, Rita,
and the Abbott family. No Pantera or Damageplan fan will every fully recover from this loss. All we can do is remember all the good
times we had while rocking out to Dime and Vinnie's music and keep their legacy alive by never forgetting how much their music truly affected us.
Phillip and Ryan actually had the chance to meet Damageplan a second time, when they played in San Antonio on November 3rd.
We will be posting those pictures as soon as possible. Until then, you can see the pictures of us with Dime and Vinnie
(

)
as well as listen to an interview with Damageplan at Javelina Harley-Davidson this past January.
Dime lived each and every moment of his life to the fullest and he died doing what he loved. If more people strived to live up to those same ideals,
the world be a better fucking place. Dime, we'll be toasting the memories you've left behind, for the rest of our lives. You are gone but not forgotten!!!
Rest in Peace, brother.

Drowning Pool & Flaw
A big "hell yeah!" to everyone who showed up to the 99.5 KISS "Hog Heaven Holiday", featuring Drowning Pool, Flaw, Pitbull Daycare and....us!
It was great to see so many people show up early to catch our set, and thanks to everyone who showed their support by signing up for the Doctura
Mailing List, buying our merch, and getting in the fucking mosh-pit! We had a great time, (with the help of a
few dozen cold Miller Lite's!) and enjoyed hanging out with everyone after the show. Check back soon for a few pics from the event and stay tuned for more shows...coming soon!

Tearing Up Texas
Thanks to everyone who showed up for the "Tearing Up Texas Tour" at Bond 007's a few weeks ago! Of course, we have to thank all the bands that played that night: Deviant, Dereistic,
The Destro, Brotherhood, and RedBetweenLines -- these are ALL fucking kick-ass bands that deserve your respect...they've certainly earned ours! Check out pics of all the mayhem, from
all the shows on the tour at www.tearinguptexas.com.
Also, we want to thank all the San Antonio sponsors of the "Tearing Up Texas Tour": Robb's Metal Works first and foremost for
capturing all the debauchary on video, DR Strings, Cracker Box Palace, The Edge Magazine, House Of Tattoos, The Mind's Eye Tattooing & Body Piercing, Salmon Peak Recording Studios and Alamo City Harley Davidson.
We appreciate the contributions that everyone made to pull this tour off, including of course the fans that we met throughout our out-of-town "adventures". Hope to see everyone again, real soon!

Damageplan
On Wednesday, January 28th Doctura had the honor of meeting the Abbot Brothers -- Dimebag and Vinnie Paul (formerly of Pantera) and their new band Damageplan. Pantera has been a huge influence
and inspiration for us for years now, so it was an honor to finally get to meet these guys! (They were cool as hell by the way, sticking around until every last fan got their shit signed.)
As if that weren't enough, Kevin Vargas of 99.5 KISS let Ryan ask the guys in Damageplan a few questions during his interview and we've posted the interview on our site!
Check it out! Thanks to Kevin Vargas for letting Ryan "sit in" on his interview and Chuck Stanley for converting the
audio to be "online friendly".

Thank You
2003 was an amazing year for Doctura! We released our new CD in February, which is still going strong and showing no signs of slowing down. As proud as we are of this CD, it is already obvious to us
that the next one is going to be even better (but that's the way it should be, right?), so it's hard to picture exactly what it will be like by the time we have the finances to hit the studio again.
We played our asses off here in SA this year, did some out-of-town dates (which are always fun), had the pleasure to open for some huge acts (Staind, Static-X & LoPro), launched our new site, and landed a
sponsorship with DR Strings! What more could we ask for? Thanks, most of all, to you the FANS for always supporting our music.
|
Staind & Static-X
Thanks to everyone who showed up early enough to see us open for Staind, Static-X, and LoPro this past Friday, October 10th! The photos from the show are now up! Check 'em out!
It was great to perform for that many people and an experience we'll truly never forget! Robb's Metal Works
filmed the show, so be watching for that footage to surface on a future episode of the Metal Works. Also, thanks to 99.5 KISS, Lone Star Attractions, The Firm, Staind, Static-X, Lo-Pro, everyone who stopped by the
Doctura merchandise tent and showed their support for us and greetings to all the new-comers on the Doctura Mailing List.
|
DR Strings
We are psyched to announce that "DR Strings" are now proud sponsors of Doctura! The band has been using DR Strings exclusively for many years now, so we couldn't be happier with the sponsorship.
In fact, if you look in the "Krawfish Fest 2002" Photo Gallery, you might catch a few shots of Ryan sporting his DR Shirt! For more information on these "one-of-a-kind" strings,
visit www.drstrings.com.
